SO, I Finally got a Monterey installed on my cMP 4,1 (flashed to 5,1) did the Pixlas mod to run a 5700xt. I installed 96gb of RAM from OWC. The computer does not fully boot, it get stuck about 1/3 in the progress bar. I have zapped the PRAM, SMC. all to no available, I replaced the original 48gb and boots up just fine.

I have installed Monterey using OCLP. Everything works just fine and I figured the last thing I would do is add 96gb, but that is one upgrade that won't work. Any suggestions what I could try? This is the 2nd set of 96gb that I try. so it cannot be the ram, or the DIMM modules.

Any red lights on the motherboard between the processors, which would indicate a DIMM slot having errors.

Your original 48 was all running on one processor's side of the memory, now you have ram on both sides, have you checked the CPU socket for that side for bent pins? Have you tried booting in a supported OS without OC, High Sierra or Mojave to see if it works?

no red lights came on, its a dual processor, using the recommended slots for triple channel. there was always ram on both sides, 8gb in slots 1,2,3,5,6 and 7. no ben pins, that I can see. I will try my Mojave drive and see if it works with the 96gb.

ahh right, sorry. I assumed you'd gone from 3x16 to 6x16.
