MP 1,1-5,1 cMP 5,1 Upgrade Order

Hello all,
I want to start by saying thank you for all the wonderful knowledge shared here.
My upgrade journey for my cMP starts soon and I was wondering what the correct order of upgrades would be.

To start, I have a 2010 with two CPU trays and the HD 5870. The items I have to upgrade are the following:
Sapphire RX 580
Two X5690 processors
96GB of Ram
NVMe SSD with PCIe card
eSata card with enclosure
BCM943602CDP card with V3 adapter

My plan is to upfrade to High Sierra, get all the firmware and bootrom updates.
Install processors, check heatsinks, install RAM - reboot
Make sure it all works
Install video card
Upgrade to Mojave
Install NVMe drive, install BCM943602CDP, install eSata card
Install mojave again on NVMe or some other means of moving it.

Any feedback or tips to make this a little easier?

Sounds like your roadmap is sound to me. All great upgrades. The eSata card is an odd choice but I get the speed aspect. USB 3 is also a popular upgrade. Just my 2 cents, but those upgrades are all the best you can do. GPU is a good choice without having to mod your PSU.... Let us know how it goes.

Thank you Alex! I certainly will. As for the eSata, yes it is the speed and redundancy. I'll be running a RAID 5 to the 6G card, so should be pretty speedy for file storage.

One more question if I may. Will the USB 3.0 card work at full speed on PCIe slot 4?

Happy to help. The forums here are full of great people that are always ready to offer feedback. There's definitely enough bandwidth on that slot to fully utilize that card. I haven't grabbed one for my 5.1 yet, but had my eye on this one....

Thank you! That is an excellent recommendation. The USB 3.0 should really be handy for my recording interface, etc.
Those are very affordable cards, kind of silly not to install one in the last slot.

You as well. Be aware that Bluetooth interference is common with USB 3 cards. I think the thread i sent in the last post mentions it. As you're thinking of changing your Broadcom card, have a read about that being a possible side effect. Not sure how the Inateck card weighs in with regards to that....
