Hi guys,

I am new here so hopefully I post my question in right section :)

I am trying to get macOS Monterey on cMP 5.1 with open core but I have issue with GPU (Sapphire Radeon Pulse RX 580 8GB)

1. macOS 12.1 - installed but GPU issue
2. macOS12.6.1 - can't install - all time stock on Apple logo
3. macOS 12.6 - installed but again GPU issue

GPU issue - shows 6MB instead of 8GB and everything is too slow (see attached pictures) - also working only one screen (HDMI output) and show interesting System Firmware number :D (original is 144.0.0.0.0)

So what I am doing wrong ? Thanks a lot for any advice/ideas :)

You need to move this question to the OpenCore thread, stickied at the top of the main Mac Pro forum, and ask the mods to delete this post.

We will ask you to post your config.plist in that thread, because I know it probably has something to do with your boot-args (or lack thereof).

It was already moved :) so if some can move it into right section it will great - I don’t know how :( sorry.

Where can I found config.plist ?

Your post is fine and doesn't need to be moved elsewhere.

The firmware version thing is done by OpenCore to protect against undesirable updates. Perfectly normal with OpenCore.

On the GPU issues, are you able to boot natively (no OpenCore) into Mojave with that GPU?

If you have issues with a native boot then you know the issue is with the GPU and not OpenCore settings. Vice versa if all is fine when booted natively.

I have also macOS Mojave on other SSD and working normal (see attached picture).

Certainly seems to be all good when booted natively and that the issues are OpenCore related.

Given the `99999999999` firmware version string, you presumably used the OCLP to set things up.
If so, you might want to ask for insights on their discord support channel.

Yes, everything is set by OCLP. OK will check OCLP support. Thanks a lot.

So there was issue with installation - as I installed macOS Monterey with noMetal GPU and after installation I switched to Metal GPU - all what I have to do is:
1. open OpenCore Legacy Patcher and run POST INSTALL ROOT PATCH -> REVERT ROOT PATCHES
2. restart Mac (after restart I had full GPU support but no WiFi)
3. open OpenCore Legacy Patcher and run POST INSTALL ROOT PATCH -> REINSTALL ROOT PATCHES
4. restart Mac (after restart I have both - full GPU support and WiFi :) )
