Forgive me if this subject has been beaten to death, but I couldn't find much out there about it. I know that Apple's hardware requirement of QuickSync to use AirPlay Mirroring is the obvious reason cMPs don't support it, however I haven't seen much mention of the fact that nMPs support it despite also lacking QuickSync since no Xeons have GPUs. I did see a brief mention of the fact that Apple did something special to the FirePro BIOS in order to use its GPU encoding, but I hadn't seen much discussion around the possibility of adding this functionality to other GPUs, particularly those flashed by MacVidCards. Is it not feasible, or is everyone just satisfied with using AirParrot at this point?

Bonus question: If I upgrade the 5770 in my cMP do I need to transfer the bracket on the bottom of the card to my new card or just leave it with the 5770 if I sell it?

I didn't know about this. I imagine you'd have the best shot packing in this sort of functionality on a 7950/7970/280x GPU. I'm willing to bet the device just has some sort of flag letting OS X know it can use the encoder.
