cMP4.1 trying to get to 5.1 and High Sierra

Acquired a lovely loaded cMP 4.1 El Capitan and I'm now lost as heck trying to update to 5.1 and update to High Sierra. First was trying to get netkas to not error out, but now as I try to search how to get that to run I read that life post flash is much easier to now use a different method, but the description of that process confuses me.

Can anyone point me to a clearly worded guide to best way to do it here in the year 2019.
OR help guide me thru it?!
I'm getting desperate.
