ok, my collaborator has a (relatively) new mac pro, running 10.11.x. he has an apogee symphony audio interface, and apps (logic X, itunes, the finder) play thru it.

in safari, everything plays thru to the speakers (ie netflix, youtube, cnbc)... everything EXCEPT cnn, which, for some reason, only plays thru the mac pro speakers.

this seems... impossible to me, but there it is. a flash issue perhaps? or?

anyone have any ideas, theories, etc?...

[doublepost=1505884548][/doublepost]Had the same thing happen, except it was watch.spectrum.com that stopped working with the Symphony I/O. I chatted with Apogee support, but they were not aware of the issue.

As far as I can tell, the problem started with the iTunes 12.7 install. Some sort of Flash / protected content issue?

Temporary fix: In Audio Midi Setup, create an aggregate device that includes the Symphony. Select only the Symphony in the aggregate device. Then right-click on the video, choose Flash Settings, click on the speaker icon, then select the aggregate device name. This worked for me.

may try that (he's really nervous, and happy that everything else works)... thanks! am suspicious that it's a flash issue... may explore that as well.
