Built in maps at a very low price and a frequently updated application. This is very tempting.

Absolute steal!

I've had CoPilot since it first came out and LOVE it! No problems at all. At $19.99, this is a no-brainer.

so you really like this app? I've been on the fence about this for quite some time. I have a j/b app and have been using XGPS which has been pretty good. But I've been hearing really good things about CoPilot and now with the $20 price tag it's really making it a tough choice. Is it worth the $20 over a free XGPS? How is the accuarcy? Any cons you can think of?

the reviews for this app in the Canadian iTunes store are terrible. For some reason, addresses shown in the 2005 Navteq maps are missing in this app.

Most people are suggesting that it's not even worth $19.99!
One reviewer said you can't even shorten Dr for Drive or it won't find the street. Can that really be true?

Too bad, I'd pick it up otherwise for $20.

Personally, I didn't like it at all. Every time I tried to use it I got confusing and inaccurate directions (wrong way on one way street, non-through streets, etc). It got me in the general vicinity, true, but I expected more. I've been much happier with the simpler MapQuest Navigator.

I agree with Zorg. Bought it and found its maps are badly outdated. The subdivision I live in is 10 years old, yet their maps don't recognize it. I submitted my address to them three times and they have yet to pick it up. Plus it has horrible routing. I bought the optional traffic feature and it didn't work either. After getting stuck in a horrible traffic jam I tried to get it to reroute me and it kept giving me the same route. After that I dumped it for Navigon and have been very pleased. Its routing is much better and its traffic feature actually works.

ya just got the email from appshopper...

WOW... i'm going to have to grab it for $20... like above said... kindof a no brainer....
i'll be glad to be rid of G-maps .......i'll keep motion x drive around just because it doesn't take up much space on the phone...

Yeah, that's a no-brainer alright. You can toss out $20 or spend $70 and get a real navigation program like Navigon. hmmmm....

Childish. Not everyone can toss out the bigger chunks of change, and for the price, plenty of people seem to be content.

It's no bargain at 20 bucks. If you got a spare Jackson to burn then by all means do it. Then when you do decide to get an app that works just realize its going to cost you $20 more.

tool? (two thumbs up to you mr. moneybags!)

You know, when I was a kid (and we weren't very well off), I remember my Mom always saying to me: 'we can't afford to buy cheap stuff' (she meant quality not price).

She was and still is right. As the next commentator said, if it's a useless program and you buy it on sale, it's still $20 thrown out.

Having said that, I do realize that some people have been happy with it. But don't claim I'm a spendthrift because I would rather pay a bit more and get something real that throw away $20. I suggest the moneybags person is the latter.

The problem with the app is its maps are often wrong. They use a custom database and that database seems to have questionable quality. It offers good performance and price though. People saying its a "complete waste of money" are just being childish. They had a bad experience thats fine, many people find it a great app.

My biggest issue with the application is that it does not have lane assist or - more importantly - speed limits. Speed Limits are big for me, so I cant use it. My father uses the app and he loves it (the maps are fine here in northeast ohio).

The maps here in Seattle metro area are fine, which is why this app is really great for its price while some on the other hand are complaining about the maps being outdated.

I drive nationwide. The CoPilot app would have me driving into a river faster than you can say Punxsutawney. :p

Its value seems to depend on what region you're from, but regardless, there's no excuse for using maps that were current when Harry Truman was still President, hence the cheap price. It's really a shame, because it is very feature packed otherwise. Personally I think they are better off getting Navteq and charging a higher price to cover the more expensive overhead costs than to use their custom maps and rely on user input for accuracy. Seriously? I have to contact them to let them know a street I used to play on 30 years ago actually still exists and "please for the love of God put it on your map!!1!!11" ? Awesome.

I have a question about CoPilot Live NA. I really enjoy this nav app except for one thing - if I have my iPod music playing in the background and a voice notification comes up, they meld together making it hard to hear what the app is telling me to do. Is there a way to make it fade the music (or stop it altogether) when the app "speaks" to me and then return to its normal volume afterward or am I stuck with it as-is?

That needs to be raised to the development team for the CoPilot Live NA app since it's one of their limitations (for now) until they release an update. For now you really have to just put up with the voices mixed with the music.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen an update for this app since... ???
