Cod 4 unable to play games with mods

Hi! I just bought cod 4 modern warfare from the app store but it seems like I can only play servers without mods.
Every time I select a server with a mod, the game stops and I have to relaunch it in safe mode. I think I have to download a mod-pack somewhere but I don't know which one.

If you use COD4 from the MAS, you can connect with modded servers, the app will then automatically download all needed mod files to your Mac!

No need for manual downloads, BUT please note dat some servers have a dramatic slow upload speed, so the download before actual being able to play on such a COD4 game-server could take a few miniutes!

Enjoy your COD4 for the Mac, I play this game since a long time - mainly online - and it's great!

Thanks for the helpful response, m4v3r1ck. The thing is I actually don't want to play mods. I played this game 6 years ago on my imac and back then, there were no mods as far as I know. I didn't realise the game had changed soo much over the years.
Even when I filter the servers on no-mods, this won't help
But I know the maps already I can play; i'll stick to them
