Hello, just wondering if anyone out there has tried comparing the two? Does Call of Duty 4 run any better in XP/Vista then in OS X? Just wondering since I'm thinking of buying the game for the new MacBook Pro I'm getting :D Thanks for any info/advice!

You will get better graphics performance with Boot Camp than in OSX, although if you're getting a new MBP, you probably won't notice the difference in graphics. But I think the PC version is cheaper and is generally more reliable in terms of how it works (a lot of people are having issues with COD4 on the Mac side).

Great, thanks for the quick reply! Yeah I have a copy of Windows XP anyways so I think I'll go for the PC version of CoD4. And as you said it is cheaper, I just did a quick search and found it for 37.99 for the PC, but 46.99 for the Mac

Yea I'd go with the PC version. I have the Mac one (and a new MBP), and although I haven't had any problems with it, somehow on windows it just seems smoother than my version, even when they're at the same framerates. I'm assuming it has to do with OpenGL vs DirectX but honestly I'm pretty clueless on that sort of stuff.

Also mine won't let me put the graphics all the way up :( Very sad.

I have both, and while the difference is much less extreme than NWN2, the PC side definitely performs better ... for cheaper.

I also have both Mac/PC versions and I also agree the PC versions seems to run better. I still use my Mac to play it tho. I just don't like using Windows unless I have no choice.

So i agree PC seems/does run a little better but don't be afraid to use the Mac, it's still a great game to play.

mac runs it well enough imo but agree with previous posters it runs better under my 32bit vista bootcamp install, neither compare to how it works on my xbox or ps3 (yes i do love cod 4 and i did have it on mac, pc, 360 and ps3) only i have sold the mac and ps3 copies since
