Thinking about getting this game, not sure whether to go for the Mac version or just do it through boot camp. But something occurred to me: PS3 owners cannot play Windows gamers online - I guess they have separate servers. So how about the Mac version? It could be a pretty small community if it was limited to Mac players only!

One more thing: if I buy a Logitech game pad a la PS3, will the game play be the same as on PS3? I don't wanna relearn with keyboard and mouse!

This question has been asked many a time before but here ya go:

Yes you can play with PC users. PC gaming is no isolated by operating system like console gaming is - everyone connects to the same servers (often running as dedicated servers on linux machines). I'd say get the Mac version - some people will say the PC version runs better but the performance is negligible for me compared to the connivence of playing it in OS X.

As for the game pad - I'm not sure. I will say this, a keyboard and mouse is not only easy to use but it is WAY more accurate. That is why professional FPS gamers use a keyboard and mouse. It is not that hard to learn, you just keep one hand on WSAD and the other on the mouse, and bam... headshot. :p

Thanks.

Yeah, bit of reading around and I'm coming to the same conclusion. But dammit, my graphics tablet's mouse doesn't play well with the game (I just went out and bought it after all). It just points straight at the floor or straight up into the sky. So do I now have to go and buy a damned mouse? :(
