I planned on purchasing COD4 to run in Bootcamp, but it was out of stock at BB, so I bought the new COD W@W instead. I had read some information regarding COD4 via bootcamp on a comparable MBP and it sounded like it ran really smooth. However, I've been really dissapointed with CODW@W (same game engine) so far.
I've tried resolutions as low as 960x600, with most of the graphics/texture settings turned way down, and it still doesn't seem smooth at all (especially for multiplayer) - and looks like crap.
Is there a trick to getting COD4/CODW@W to run well on a MBP with the Nvidia 8600? Game config settings, different video driver, nvidia control panel settings?
It was expecting to at least getting running at 1280x800 at medium settings.
BTW, it doesn't appear that they've enabled the /cg_drawFPS command in W@W, so I can't report any actual FPS numbers at this point.
Thanks.

try disabling anti alias in the options

I run call of duty 4 on imac on my sig at full resolution (1900-1200) very smoothly. Don't use the recommended settings. I would put the resolution to MBP native and simply disable Anti-alias as I said.
