COD5 on iMac or Mini?

If you're really a serious gamer I'm not sure how a Mac would really fit your style.
I can definitely see your dilemma. Unfortunately Macs won't run the few graphics demanding games such as Crysis that well. It depends on how they optimize COD5, my guess is that if you can get a flagship iMac, you might be able to run the game still, at max settings or close to max settings.
If you can only afford base iMac, don't' even bother, let alone mac Mini.

How about Mini/iMac + PS3/X360? I got iMac and PS3 and IMO it's fantastic setup. No more worries about graphics or FPS and consoles are quite cheap atm
then just get the top-end iMac which has HD4850 gfx card, that will run COD5 @ max no problemo. another to watch out for, the mouse will feel wayyyyyy different than pc mouse though, especially for fps games , but have fun

And that is what I am leaning towards, but I wanted to see if anyone was actually running COD5 on their mac?
CoD5 has been out for a while. CoD Modern Warfare 2 comes out in November.
I'm sure CoD5 will run smoothly on the new iMac's. I've been playing Modern Warfare on my 2007 MBP and a 23 inch ACD and it's very acceptable (not max settings mind you but the hardware is over 2 years old now)
Ha, Call of Duty "5" is World At War which was released last year. This year Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is coming out, which would be Call of Duty "6."

If you only use a computer for basic web browsing and emails etc (aside from games), then my advice is to just get a Mac Mini and an Xbox 360 (or PS3... but I'd lean towards the Xbox personally). Yes, I'm trying to convert you to console gaming instead. Bit off topic... but it is a complete waste of money spending lots of money on a high end iMac that doesn't even have enough horsepower to play today's games in its native resolution (There would be very few recent games that the iMac's 4850 can run at 3.7 megapixels), let alone a few years down the road.
You can buy a VGA cable for the Xbox and hook it up to your computer monitor... voila! Gaming with the comfort of a controller, and without all the hassle about upgrading PCs, installing games, worrying about system requirements, etc etc. And the $800 Mac Mini is a fairly capable computer that should last several years, saving you a lot of money over a gaming PC.
