a must have for any laptop. this application
lets you create multiple desktops.

i have it configured for six. three work spaces..
flash in the middle, a miscellaneous work
space to the left and a photoshop work space
to the right...all i have to do is wave the mouse
to the right and im in photoshop...wave it to
the left again and im in flash...i wanted to make
a pallete work space but it doesnt seem to
support moving an applications palletts into
another work space. maybe future versions.

talk about gaining screen real estate. the
bottom three work spaces (making up the
six total) would be a finder work space...
i organize my finder with a few open windows
strategicaly placed to be most efficient for most
finder tasks.

to the left of the finder i have a communications
work space that houses ichat safari and mail.
actually i configured it to allow ichat windows
to appear in all work spaces through the
preferences panel.

THEN to the left of the finder work space i have
my business work space, full of quickbooks, ical,
address book and i think thats it.

now i can enter each environment with the wave of the mouse...very cool

my first piece of shareware that i have bought.
i tend to not use shareware applications cause
i feel most of them should be incorporated into
osx already (ei. sherlock/watson or launch bar).
but i dont see apple integrating this feature into
there software..their in the business of selling
monitors :D and this application just took me
out of the morket for a slim LCD for my
external monitor.....so i bought it :D

have fun.

it will take some time to stay centered using
this application but its worth it....half hour
using it and im pretty set...just some fine
stweaking left.

CodeTek VirtualDesktop

take care.

first off, this should be in macapps discussion ok

then secound , VT is a great app, but its just an app that makes more window space to me.

It need the ability to show only menu bar in the secound desktop and not show your desktop and desktop icons, be like a real true secound moniter, until It does that I see no need for it

thats cool. i just love having all my apps grouped
according to tasks. and like i said. for a laptop,
when a second monitor wouldnt be very
practical, this fills in nicely. i love this app. isnt it
great how customizable osx can be...all you
gotta do is explore and tweak a few apps to
their fullest. i love having lots of windows open
and this is the only option ive come across that
allows you to dedicate a whole desktop to a
certain workflow arrangement.

happy computing.

for those of us that either can't hook up a second monitor to our computer or just can't afford another, this program does what it can to simulate it.

out of all the VD programs, i think codetek's is the best one...most functional with the most options
