Hey there. I am the creator of Coherence.

Coherence is a relatively simple app that allows you to turn websites into applications on OS X 10.10, 10.11, and 10.12. It is $2.99, with a free download available on our website.

Coherence is unique from similar apps because it uses Chrome as a backend as opposed to Safari or some form of Webkit. Simply type in a name, a url, and grab an icon, and we create an app.

Today we launched Coherence 4.0, which adds a suite of new features, including the ability to grab favicons, a proper activation and demo system, better integration with OS X, the ability to pick any instance of Chrome as a backend, and more.

If you get here early enough, here's five free codes for MacRumors users:

Edit: All used up folks, check me out on twitter for a chance at a license.

I'm actively developing Coherence and would love to hear questions, feedback, and feature requests.

Latest version is 4.0

I am not sure what kind of outcome we would get with your software....perhaps you could indicate: Who, What, When,Where and Why.

While I'm not entirely sure I get your question, I'll do my best to answer it.

One use case I use Coherence for is Netflix. By having a netflix app, I'm able to easily get on the site, watch content, and mange it separate from my web browser.

Another case I've used personally is I enjoy british television, but being in the states I often have to use a VPN. So, I have an app for a british television site, with a VPN extension.

We've had a number of users in the past use this for POS terminals, internal websites that they wan't their employees or customers to have easy access to, or even just isolate apps for ease of use.

It's a very interesting app - I use a similar one called Fluid.
One thing though - as it uses Chrome to run, does it have the same battery-draining/hogging consequences of having numerous Chrome tabs open?
