I am looking for a developer to design an app for Coin Collectors. Thanks to Apple's infinite wisdom, I can not create the app myself because I do not (and will not) have a Mac.

This could be a very expandable project to encompass a coin app, a paper money app, gold coins, foriegn coins, stamps...etc. I am an avid coin collector and am always on the look out for coin shows, vendors, yard/garage sales all of which have various coins and if I don't have my book then I don't know what I need.

The first app would need to be Coins...Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, Half-Dollars and Dollar Coins. It would need to show the Mint and the Quality for each coin and a full screen size high rez picture to look at instead of handling the coins.

There is only one app that even comes close in the App store and it is the Quarters App(which is a weak and needs alot of work) ( http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=290584335&mt=8 ) I sent an email to the developer to see if he was going to expand upon that app but he has not replied.

The one thing I would not buy is an app for each individual coin type, it would have to include all coins for it to be of interest to me and other coin collectors.

Collectors and Developers please post your comments/interest to see if this would be something someone would create.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!!!

God my dad would love it if someone made this app, he'd probably buy an iPhone, as long as the coin database was held in the app, not via a webservice, he'd probably buy an iPhone for this single purpose...

Agreed, the data base would have to remain on the iPhone and be backed up to the computer. But you also have added to my idea...being able to connect to other iPhone coin collectors in some way would be another possibiliy.
