I've heard of the Collective Unconscious but this is the first time i've come across the Collective Insanity.
It started innocently enough when I bought a case for my GPS, from a GPS accessory specialist on eBay.
I'll leave out most of the idiocy and cut to the chase. My model GPS is called a Summit, it does not have a button on the front. Like most manufacturers Garmin make variations on their product line. The case I bought was advertised for the Summit.
The case they sent me had a hole in it that the neoprene cover goes around. The hole is for a different model eTrex that has a button on the Front.
It's all OK so far just a simple mistake one would think. But when I took this up with the seller they Insisted that it was the correct model and I am an idiot for bringing up the hole because the seller never said the item was waterproof. Yes they really said this.
After numerous ridiculous replies from Paypal including one where they said to me that if someone send me an unsolicited parcel that I neither ordered nor paid for that it is my responsibility to pay to return it to the seller. I have the emails.
Finally I contacted the company, Gilsson who confirmed with me this morning that the model case that they sell for the Summit is indeed the correct case.
You decide...
Am I being too picky in complaining about a 'designed to protect' product that has a frikken hole in the front of it.
