Hey guys, I will be a student next year living in a lovely tiny little dorm room. So, my mac of choice will be a white 2.0 ghz macbook with 2 gb of memory upgraded myself. That much I am set on. But I want something that I can watch tv on and use as a monitor. A combo lcd type deal. I know the monitor quality can sometimes suck on those tv/ monitor combo deals but I found a really nice looking samsung at Office Depot of all places that has composite for my 360, built in tv tuner for the standard cable and dvi input for my mac. So heres a link: http://www.pagecomputers.com/store/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Monitors+%26+Televisions&category%5Fname=15g15c114s2328&product%5Fid=879244tegory%5Fname=15g15c114s2328&product%5Fid=879244

I would love to get some feedback about what you guys think about this, or any other suggestions. I saw a link to a 26 inch olevia in another thread and even though it is any amazing deal I don't want something that big I don't think. Do any of the elegato mactv setups have inputs for hd gaming for an xbox 360. I don't know much about eye tv so anything on that would be much appreciated as well.

You need component inputs for 360, which this one has, but don't rule out the Olevia. I'm running a 26" Samsung right now... just make sure you've got component, and DVI or preferably HDMI. Also, the 26" isn't too bad, i've actually got mine mounted on the wall, which you can probably get away with in the dorms... they didn't care at my school...

Wish i was going to your college. They complain so bad here (OSU) about that kinda stuff.

Anyway, i was about to ask the same question as to what brands/sizes are good to look for. I am looking for a widescreen LCD that can double as a display for my iMac. I want it to be HDTV campatible and I dont need anything bigger then 26in (althought if the price is right i could swing it). Obviously the more inputs the better.

If anyone can give suggestions that would be great.
