Does anybody know why the colors get duller or darker when you save a psd file for the web ( jpg ). I'm dealing with a blue and a red color. The blue values should be R:47 G:105 B: 177, the red color should be R: 220 G: 45 B: 41.

I also don't get why the colors in my client's logo colors appear to change going from Illustrator file, saving it as PDF (RBG mode), and then opening it in Pshop and pasting it into a PShop file. It doesn't make any sense why the red and blue looks brighter to my eyes in Pshop than it does in Illustrator, and yet the eyedropper says that both the Illustrator and Pshop files have the same RGB color values.

Final output of this file will on the web as jpg.

Any ideas on this?

sounds like photoshops color settings are different that your other apps. if it bothers you that much, buy a calibrator and use that profile. If you don't want to go through all that, just go into each apps color settings and make sure they are the same color.

Is your Illustrator file RGB? Is your photoshop file RGB? Is it opening the Illustrator file in Photoshop as RGB? If any of those answers is no, that's a problem.

Yes, the Illustrator file is RGB. I'm opening the pdf of the illustrator file in PShop. I'm opening the pdf as an rgb.

Nicrose,

You mention in an earlier thread that you own a copy of Dan Margulis' Professional Photoshop. I suggested then and I suggest again now that you read it and attempt to understand it because you will eventually get all the answers to your questions.

I might suggest as a start to just work on understanding the difference between 'Convert to Profile' and 'Assign Profile', then it will be as if a veil has lifted.

Best way I've found to get web jpgs to work is to *Convert* the file to your monitor profile and then Save for Web without an embedded profile.
