Does anyone know if the Silver Magic Trackpad 2 is identical to the version that is sold with the new iMac?

Good question. It is reasonable to not assume that it may not be the same shade.

It's close. May not be exactly the same shade of white & aluminum, and the corners of the retail ones are more squared than the corners of the ones that ship with the new iMacs (and their keyboards).
