Hi, all!

I am a long time reader, and recent poster. Thanks so much, Arn and team, for a wonderful website!

Dell has recently released colors for their new Inspirion series:

The Sony Vaio also now comes with some color options:

I thought it would be fun to ask....how many of you creative types would love to see an option for colored outer casing on the next MBs and MBPs? Should Macs be left out of the color option selection and stay with the sleek silver design that we currently have (or black or white)?

Or, can you imagine your next MB or MBP being:

Hot Pink?
Lime Green?
Emerald Green?
Sunshine Yellow?
Mustard Yellow?
Cherry Red?
Leather or Cocoa Brown?
Lavendar?
Royal Purple?
Dark Purple?
Midnight Blue?
Sky Blue?
Other colors?

Feel free to indicate the color you would want, indicate a new color, or indicate if you don't want color option for your MB or MBP!

Have fun and enjoy!!

The only other color a MBP would look good as would be black. Thee MBs could go back to the old iBook line and feature colors. However, colors don't really befit Apple's products as they would make them look less sleek and unprofessional. hurricane beat me to the colorware, that's really the only option if you want a colored Mac. I'm fine with my MBP just the way it is.

Thanks, hurriance, as Colorware definitely adds to the variety of colors available, whether for the iphone or MB or MPB!

But my question is...how many of you would like to see a (limited) variety of colors offered by Apple as an option when ordering your MB or MPB?

This way, there would be no need for customer shipping to an outside vendor for painting and any extra third-party painting costs bundled. By the way, Dell offers color options for just $18...:)

Thanks, IToaster! And I totally agree...whatever look it would have would have to look sleek and professional, and done in Apple elegance in a way that would make it stand out from others! That is...if colors are used!

You also bring up another good point! Maybe the MBs could offer multiple color options, while MBPs could remain in sleek silver, or black.

Would anyone go for that though?

I can only imagine the number of people bemoaning that their MB or MBP purchase was delayed due to a paint job or that their MB or MBP's paint job looked like it was done by a 3-year old.

Ha! Ha! I totally agree! I can hear bemoaning delays and botched paint jobs! So...does that mean that Colorware paint jobs look like they were done by a 3-year-old? :D just kidding!

But seriously, with the lack of replies on this thread, it is safe to conclude that we are all very satisfied with our current aluminum/white/black MBs and MBPs!

Thanks for reading and participating, everyone!

Whatever Apple comes up with in the future, it will be sure to be elegant and out-shine all others :apple: :)

The only color options I would like to see are a smaller mbp (11-13 with aluminum) and a black option for the mbp. Other than that, it's all how it should be.

not sure why a smaller MBP would classify as a new color...

i think if Apple starts offering colors, it should be restricted to the MacBook model (not Pro).

A black finish to the MBP would be nice.

I hate grey laptops - they are so dull. I like my MBP's colour as it is a silver rather than a dulled down lifeless grey.

Grey is depressing - reminds me of a cloudy rainy day.

Now that you mention it, I don't know why either; I guess I just want to see that product:p

I agree with the colors being macbook only. Professionals don't want a pink laptop.

Same here. PC vendors will try and try, but they just can't seem to get the color right. I think it's because they're using plastic instead of aluminum. The silver hue of the mbp is really sweet:)

The only new options i would like to see are:

A 13.3" Macbook in aluminum. It would sort of be 'the pro of the non-pro MacBooks'. Essentially a 13.3" MacBook Pro.

A black MacBook Pro, with the same finish as the black 8GB iPod nano.

Also possibly a (Product) Red MacBook. I think thats unlikely, although I would not be surprised if it happened.
