Wouldnt it be great if Apple combined iTunes and Quicktime?

Actually more like incorporate Quicktime movie playing into iTunes. I like the iTunes interface and it wouldnt be hard for Apple to plug Quicktime movie playing into it, the controls are already there.

iMedia - The Apple solution for all your audio and video playing needs.

Hmmm, maybe "iTainment"

i don't really think that many people have the need to play a bunch of movies in succession like that. if they really do, i could see them just using iMovie to put them together...

...unless you are talking about things like simpsons episodes...which you aren't really supposed to have and are less legal than mp3s...

...but again...not as many people have a use for such a piece of software...and remember...even if tons of people on these forums reply saying they want it, that they account for probably 5% of all mac users

What's wrong w/Simpson's episodes? You can either tape them off the TV or buy the boxsets.

Incorporating it into iTunes would make mp4 rendering a snap.

I presume that Apple will do this when their AAC music business goes 1.0 and the iPods get an update and I see no reason why they couldnt incorporate movies as well.

Eventually in the not so distant future hard drives are going to be big enough that people will store their DVD collections on their computers like they do with music right now. Why not give movies the same functionality that music has?(ie "classics" list would show classic movies, "action" "horror", etc etc)

I am currently seeking people who are experienced software developers to help me develop this. I call it iTheatre.

I also want to add tivo functionality through eyeTV.

> capture from tv
> store on hard drive
> playback w/ iTunes like library using quicktime

There is actually software out there which is like an iTunes for movies. I forgot the name, but I think it was in a recent issue of MacWorld. I'll check when I get home tonight.
