I have found multiple free programs that are able to combine .avi files with absolutely no problem all day long online, but I have yet to find any programs that can combine .m4v files easily. Any suggestions?

In 10.7 Lion will combine m4v files. I have tried with simple h.264 mov files. I'm not sure if the end file will keep your chapters markers, I haven't tried those files yet.

Nice to know Lion will do that. Have yet to upgrade.

MPEG Streamclip will join m4vs, though I just found out it also dropped my 6 channel audio and left the 2 Channel. Not cool. Could be a setting...I haven't bothered to check.

Anyway...just drop simultaneously the two files you want to join onto Streamclip and then save them to a new file. Easy As!

I've been waiting for the kinks to get worked out for 10.7. Might just have to upgrade it now.
