Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased the New Basic 27" Imac 2 days ago and loving it so far. It was either to upgrade my 2008 Macbook Pro or get a new Imac. It was a hard decision, but I still love my old MBP and didnt want to replace it just yet. But anways, here is my question.

Is it possible to watch Comcast TV on my Imac. If I can, what will I need to purchase and what kind of box will I need to get from them. I know about the tv tuners, but would really love it if I was able to connect my Comcast digital box.

Thanks in advance !.

I'd say pickup the Belkin AV360 that would allow you to convert HDMI to MDP. But I don't think it is clear yet if this would work on your new iMac because of Thunderbolt.

Will not work. In the future you'll need the new devices from Belkin or Atlona (http://www.atlona.com/Converters-with-DisplayPort-and-Mini-DisplayPort-output/) that allow you to input HDMI and it'll output the correct signal through Thunderbolt. These won't be cheap. I was looking into it so I could consolidate everything to the new iMac (PS3 and TV) but it's just not worth it. 46" LCD still looks great next to the iMac

The link I just showed outputs mini-display so those won't work. These companies are expected to make announcements soon about the upcoming products. Only thunderbolt can be used as an input.

i hope i can use my imac as a tv in the future. that would be really nice. So i guess I got to save up for a TV in my office now.:(
