Come on Apple when are we getting AirPod Max 2??.

I want to buy AirPods Max but since it such a large investment and the since current version is old by tech standards, I want to wait to the release of the next generation.

Is there any chatter or predictions?

Multiple reliable sources have said that if we get a gen 2, that it’s possible we won’t get one until end of 2024. I was waiting as well, but decided to get one last week since some appeared in stock finally at the Apple store. If and when the gen 2 comes out, I’ll sell the gen 1 since they hold decent resell value.

What’s old about its tech compares to today standards? I don’t see anything in the competition that would make them outdated. Even others like Sony don’t update their headphones in a yearly basis. If you want them, get them.

I agree. By the time the new AirPods Max come out mine will be over 2 years old. However unless they support lossless audio I don’t really see a compelling reason to upgrade.

To be honest I think it will go the way of the HomePod.

If they do get refreshed I fully expect just more colour options, USB-C and maybe a headphone Jack for those who want lossless audio.

If you really want them, just get them now. Assuming the next gen is released in the 3rd or 4th quarter of next year, that still gives you a year & a half of usage (or more if the rumors change)

Without any concrete proof of when they'll be released, if the Max's are something you're interested in now, you might as well get it.

Worst case, you'll be able to test them out & return them during the return window if you don't like them.
