I'm switching from PC to Mac, and one of the smaller apps that I use is called Comic Book Reader. It's to read digital comic archives. (I like to have digital copies of my comics for backup, as well as transportabilty purposes). The archives are simply jpegs inside of .rar files (sometimes .zip) and the reader is just an image viewer that loads images from inside a single archive sequentially, pre-caches the next 2 or so pages (for fast 'page turning'), advances to the next page with an easy, user definable button, and has a few zooming and pannign options to help see the whole page or portions of it with easy/fast commands.

Does anyone knwo of anything for the Mac that will do this?
Thanks,
Rob

Check out a program called Comical. You can find it on sourceforge. It is not quite as full featured as CDisplay on windows, but is only a couple of months old. The developer has done a great job so far. It was a little rough getting it set up in the early stages but I think he has a installer pkg now.

for the lowdown.

Hey, I like to read the odd comic book here and there... where can you get the appropriate files from? Do people do internet only books? are the old faves available? I love stuff like Judge Dredd, The Matrix stuff that's floating around, Star Trek Graphic Novels and Transmetropolitan :D
