Hi guys I have the note 10 plus and fancy a change so I've ordered a iphone 11 pro max which is coming tomorrow I havent been with ios for quite some years now (iphone se I think lol) just want to ask a couple of questions

I'm using and app called youtube Vanced is there a youtube app like this for ios I mainly want it to stop the ads and play 4k video in full 2160p like youtube Vanced can (I know non of the displays have 4k :)

And is there a easy way of converting some of my videos as ios doesnt seem to recognised a few of my formats like android does?

Also give read that the best setting for the speakers in terms of sound and volume is "late night" is that still the case

And what's your opinions on me switching from the note 10 plus and android to ios and the 11 pro max some people are saying I'm crazy lol

Thanks

I don’t know there is anything like Vanced without jailbreak. The most obvious solution is to subscribe to Youtube Premium for ads free and ability to save videos. If you jailbreak then there’s Cercube. The ads blocking might work if you use Youtube in a browser. I haven’t tried for Youtube, but I watch videos in Brave web browser because the video still play in the background even if you minimize the browser.

As for videos playback, I’m using sPlayer pro version which works even with avi videos, but there are other good apps like Infuse 6.

Frankly we should be happy just to be able to play offline videos and music at all with third party apps on iOS. I didn’t think it was ever going to be allowed. I think you just have to accept you can do less things on iOS if you intend to use it, or carry two phones.

Thanks for the fast reply I've been with android for around 7 years and I think I just fancy a change the missues has the pro max too and I quite like it speakers and the display blow the note 10 plus out the water IMO just I've never really used ios fully to see how it compares to android but the thing I like so much about android is everything you want to do it's kind if there or an app for it where ios seems to be a bit more if a pain if you know what I mean lol

Does brave web browser allow you to select different video quality for youtube?

Thanks

There seems to be a way to use Cercube through something called Tweakbox, which is a third party appstore. I haven’t tried it and not sure how safe it is, so use it at your own risk.

You can change video resolution in brave/chrome, pretty sure all of the modern browsers allow that.

Thanks I'll have to take a look once it arrives tomorrow :) I've just tried on chrome and brave and indeed I can change the resolution just the video doesnt seem to crop right and hdr video doesnt seem to be in hdr

I dont fancy jailbreak as it messes up banking Apps ect but dont mind paying for a decent app lol

I think I would spend a bit of time learning how the iPhone works today. How the filing system works, there have been a lot of changes in the last 5 years. The iPhone is about as much like an android as a Mac computer is like a Windows PC. Some things are easier some are impossible. I’d spend the first week just setting preferences and learning how the Files app works before I even started thinking about third part apps.
iCloud and syncing options seem to cause more than a fair share of problems for new users so I’d do a bit of research on that online.
