Hi,

I need to buy a new Compact Flash reader for my 7DII which uses both CF and SD. I would like one that I can plug into the front Studio Max without an adapter. Has anyone bought one or can recommend what I should/could buy? If not, I guess I'll buy a regular USB 3 and connect to my hub.

Thank you,

Gloria

Have you checked amazon?
I just looked and there were more than one.
Yes, but those are not 3.1 Gen II. The ones I did find are for a Compact Flash card that I do not use like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WVKF75Q?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_0AG0TA135MMXRDT4NW38. I'll just buy one of those or just use my SD cards until something shows up. There still are not so many products for the Studio and what there is, is pretty expensive. I also am learning what I can and what I cannot use.

Thank you very much!

Gloria

As far as I know, your Compact Flash and SD cards determine the data transfer rate to your computer, not your computer's port. I haven't looked into this lately, but is there even such a thing as a CF/SD card reader that claims to transfer data from these cards at USB 3.1 Gen 2 rates?

Yes, I understand, but I wanted something that could be backward compatible that I could plug in the front without an adapter, when I needed it. I did send for an adapter anyhow. I realize there is a big leap to the ports my old iMac 2009 had!! Still learning.

Thank you!!
