Compact Power Adaptor for new MBP

Guys, I just got my new 2.4GHz 15" MBP, a stinking beauty BTW
I upgraded my 17" PB G4 and one difference I noticed is the size
of the new power adaptor - it's freakin' huge! What replacement do you
guys suggest for a travel, more compact one?
Would the small Macally work:

it's only 40W so the batter won't charge that fast, but will it work?
Can I do some damage with such low voltage adaptor?
If not, what else?

Don't know about the issue with wattage, but one thing you'll need to pay careful attention to is provided connector (into the machine).

That's a good point, so are there ANY third party power adaptors
with magnetic tip for MBP?

You can use the Macbook adapter, which I believe is smaller.

I don't think there are yet....

1. there are no 3rd party macbook pro adapters. magsafe is patent pending and apple is fiercely holding onto it. why lose sales to another company when you can keep it to yourself?

2. macbook adapter is not powerful enough for the macbook pro. they are different sizes because they have different Watts. The very best you can hope for with the macbook adapter is that you will be able to power the macbook pro, but it will never charge the battery.

It's been said on here a few times that it does charge it, just very slowly.

Thanks a lot! I guess I will get one and try...
I might also try the airplane adapter on my upcoming flight to China,
but I guess it's pure luck if it works on a specific plane...

From what I have read, the airline adapter only powers your laptop, but does not charge your battery. As with using the MacBook power supply, it would work, but it would charge the battery at a slower rate. Plus if you were just using the power supply to run your laptop, you might not be able to tax your MPB too much, since the 60W PSU cannot supply that much power.
