"Company Owned" = 100% chance of carrying iPhone?

I am thinking of going to an ATT store instead of the Apple Store for the phone because i'm hoping it'll be less crazy. Anyway, i was looking at a few near me on ATT's store locator.

If it says Company Owned -- does that mean it's a legit store that'll have the iPhone?

The other titles are Authorized Retailer, and Exclusive Retailer.

My local company owned ATT store said they didn't know if they would even be getting the iPhone.

Right but he's saying the store near him IS an AT&T company owned store and it won't be carrying it.

Not all AT&T stores are going to have iPhones at launch. The franchise stores will not have them, at least right now, but the corporate stores will.

I'm in Irvine (working), and I'm planning on going to the Irvine Spectrum Center since it has a Cingular and Apple store. Just a FYI for those in So Cal.

Just visit the store and if they have the iPhone poster, you're all good

New Jersey here. I did the same thing. I checked the AT&T site. my plan is to go to a Company owned AT&T store in the moring around 8am so hope there is little or no line. There are a bunch of company owned stores by me so I may have to store hop. Anybody else from North NJ?

I just called 2 "Company Owned" Stores here in Boston, and one said We Will have them, and to show up "after" 6pm. The other said "I'm not 100% whats going on with those".

I'm really debating whether to go the Apple or AT&T my gut is telling me Apple but I'm thinking I"ll have better luck at an AT&T Store. We Shall see 10 days to decide.
