A Get Info iTunes Media/Music will give you a music file count, including folders.
If you want better, you'll need to go to AppleScript, and compare file names and and track names.
That'll be tricky, because file names look like this "1-01 Enter Sandman.mp3", and track names look like this "Enter Sandman".
Doing this is not a casual undertaking.
Have a look at Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes to see if he has a suitable solution.
Find your music folder inside your iTunes folder. Start by clicking on the music folder, and keep opening until you find another music folder. The pathe to mine is
/Volumes/Io/Music/iTunes\ 12/iTunes\ Media/Music
Yours will be a bit different.
The inside of that folder will have a bunch of folders like:
Code:
AC DC
Acid Witch
Adrian Legg
Aerosmith
Aes Dana
Do NOT manually drag things in or out of these folders. It will mess up iTunes something awful.
You can have iTunes open while you are looking at this. Without programming, you should be able to find whether the folders with the music you are looking for are present.
Another option is to type the name of a song into Spotlight. If it's there, Spotlight should let you pay it.
