Apologies if this topic has been raised prior; a search of the forums did not reveal a comparable thread.

As my contract with AT&T will be up this summer I find myself desiring to upgrade from my iPhone 3G, and considering the alternatives. Specifically the Nexus One or the upcoming HTC Supersonic. I had been following the Archos Phone Tablet, but the Archos has apparently been scrapped due to lack of carrier support. I am reasonably certain either the N1 or the Supersonic could cope with my needs, but with one exception.

Like many others, my iPhone is my principal portable media player, and I have been satisfied in its function. Since I have very little experience using other smartphones, and no experience with their capabilities as media players, what I want to know is, how do they compare as media players to the iPhone? I'm not interested so much in the user interface as I am with musical fidelity and faithful visual reproduction.

Thanks in advance!
