Anyone have a shot comparing the two? Old, boring one toned to the new unibody?

Really? I find the new screen to be a lot better. Then again, I like gloss/glass (not a professional designer or anything).

Is that why you don't like it? Not matte?

I do prefer the old style either. Solid aluminum block macbook's aren't better than last generation MBP :p

Old style all the way. I do not want a BentBook Pro or a cracked sheet of glass with a working screen behind it but you have to replace the LCD too.

Or a stupid SD slot instead of an Express Card slot.

that looks pretty nasty, however that kind of thing doesn't just randomly happen. It takes some significant force to cause that kind of damage. The unibody is much more rigid than the old mbp so i think the older model would have sustained much more damage

I'm pretty sure if you do that much damage to any laptop its going to pretty much ruin it for good, the plastic casing of the old mbp wouldnt look too pretty either if it was put through the same fate as that one.

Yeah you are definitely right my friend dropped my old MBP about a year ago and since then I've had a large dent on the side of my machine. I'm absolutely positive the new unibody is stronger.

I'm wondering what in the world could have happened to do the damage seen in the first picture.

Yep it does, still would nice to have the specs of the new uni bodies in the old mbp casing

To be fair, I doubt my MBP is that much slower than current models, so I'm not all that bothered, yet.

Before anyone pipes up, I don't care for your battery life, I like my 3gbps SATA connection :D
