Complete Jailbreak Backup?

Hey All ... I was wondering if there was a way that you can back up EVERYTHING jailbreak related on an iPhone. I'm great with 'nix/ssh, but want to know if you can simply tar/gzip up some dirs and save all packages and more importantly all my settings( like LockInfo, notifier, SBSettings, etc... )

Has anyone tried to do this in a -reliable- way?
