Hi all,

I'm a complete Mac novice!
I've bought a 2nd hand Mac Mini with Mac OSX (10.7.3), 2.3ghz processore with 2gb memory.
Its one of the newer ones so has no optical drive.

Basically this is the first mac ive ever used. The mac has been cleared of data from its previous owner but still logs on as him etc.

Can anyone tell me in complete and utter laymans terms how to get this to out of the box factory reset standard so i can set it all up as myself. I assume you can do this based on the fcatory reset function of ipod/iphone that i am familiar with.

Many thanks in advance.

Rich

Restart the Mac mini holding the Option button and look for the Recovery HD. Start from that.

Once in, use Disk Utility to erase the hard drive.

When erased, go to the "Install Mac OS X" It'll need an internet connection and a couple hours, but that should do it.
