Is it possible to do a complete synchronization between Apple Photos and Google Photos in both directions?

I have had both for years, but there are a lot of photos I suspect I have only in one of them, and vice versa.

So, it would be grand if I could be sure of having the same in both places.

I'd prefer to sync on desktop due to storage limitations on my iPhones. Mac, Windows, Linux, all are possible.

Nope. Systems aren't compatible with each other. The only thing I can think of is to download Google Photos and let it grab your photos from your phone. However, this won't sync any albums you've made. I find it best to stick with on or the other OR use 1 as a main that's highly organized and the other as a backup without any organization.

That's my solution.
I use Apple Photos to organise and store in 2TB iCloud. My Google Photos is a backup — no albums or anything, it just takes what I shoot from the iPhone and places it in my Google Drive. It does come in handy if I want to share some photos with someone who is on Android.
