My 21.5 base model iMac arrived this morning and I am LOVING it! The screen is unbelievable, so clear and crisp and I love the magic mouse :) This is my first mac since an old black and white apple mac II but it feels like returning to an old friend, the interface, although different from the windows I am used to, is so simple and it is so quiet! At the moment all I can hear is my birds chirping, which is exactly how it should be :)

Setup was a breeze, finding my way around was no trouble and I am one happy camper :) Just wanted to share my delight :)

I experienced the same thing when I received my 2010 MacBook Pro. I couldn't believe how amazing that it was. I had to get a MBP because I am waaaay too mobile for a desktop computer. I plug my laptop into my second monitor and it turns into a super computer. :) I will never buy a windows computer EVER AGAIN!

That's not pointless. Congratulations on your new mac, I'm currently using Windows 7 and I do miss the simpler, unclutted (yet more powerful) mac os, so I envy you.:D

My first iMac (21.5 model) arrived Wednesday and I'm quite impressed as well. Especially how easy the setup was. Everything's very guided and looks very much thought through. Gmail account sync (Mail, Calendar, Contacts) was easier than on any other system that I've used before, so is the installation of a new app.

Now I'm waiting for the first downside to reveal itself... ;)

BTW: If you love the magic mouse, get MagicPrefs It adds some handy features.

Ooh yes thank you, I'll add that to my list of must download programs :) I love how easy it is to install and uninstall programs, so painless lol. Still enjoying my new toy, I think I'm going to have to move it in my bedroom lol the screen is so much clearer than my tv for watching dvd's ;)

Might as well add my story to this topic as well. I had a 21.5" iMac, sold it to buy a powerful desktop PC, but after a while I noticed that I just don't game all that much and even though it was very powerful I didn't use that power for anything which actually matters. I started to miss the Mac experience and programs like iPhoto and Garageband. (Live Gallery sucks and there is no Garageband alternative, I just couldn't be that creative in Windows.)

I put up an ad for my computer, asked for a trade, that PC (Worth over 1200 USD) for any Mac. Mac Mini, Macbook, iMac, doesn't matter.

I was about to give up, but then someone offered to trade his 27" iMac. It was only 1½ months old, barely used, in mint condition... So yeah, suffice to say I was shocked. I get home and see that he still has 86% left in the batteries for the keyboard and about the same for the mouse, that tells you how little he used it. It was the best deal ever.

And man, this thing is huge, I really did not expect the step from 21.5" to 27" to be so dramatic. This thing absolutely blows away everything I've ever used up to this point. Love it and I'm never going back!

Wow, that's a great deal :) Nice to hear about other people's experiences :) Especially positive ones :)
