iPod Completing album following on from single purchase

Hi all

This is my first post to the Forum.

I love all things Mac but one thing is driving me mad:

If I purchase a single from an artist then decide to complete the album, the single and the rest of the album appear separate in my library. When I choose to 'play album' only the remaining tracks play and not the original single.

How can I add that single to the album?

Hope somebody can help!!
