iPhone Composing Text Message in ios 13

Hello,

I noticed with the new update composing a text message (not iMessage) takes an extra step.

When the name of the person I want to text comes up there is now an arrow which I have to select and then select the phone number.

If I just tap the person's name and write my text and it won't let me send it.

Is there a way to turn it off so I don't have to take that extra step?

The only time I see the arrow is if I don't have a mobile number for the contact.

I do have the numbers for my contacts. Do you use iMessage? This didn't happen with ios 12.

I had this initially on some contacts possibly where i hadnt set the number correctly. Once i'd picked the number first time it was remembered going forward and i didnt have to do it again.
