trying to fit my home movie (740mb) onto a standard 700 mgb dvdr, anyone show me the way to gizmo that can compress the file for me..
drivin me nuts..
thanks..

Not sure about compression, but DVD2OneX can assist you with shrinking it. I used it on my dad's conversion of reel-to-reel movies to DVD.

More info is needed. Are you trying to burn this as a data file? In that case, a DVD-R will easily hold the file. Are you trying to burn a Video DVD? In that case the length of the movie determines whether it will fit on on DVD or not.

From your original post, it sounds like you are trying to burn a 740 MB file onto a CD-R, not a DVD-R. CD-Rs hold 700 MB.

You can use Stuffit to compress the file size, if you're just trying to burn a data CD.
