somewhere on the Earth
hey anyone out there who reads this. I am the proud owner of a MacBook and was hoping someone more computer savvy than i could tell me how i can make a light show using my Mac and some christmas lights for less than $100.
This would be really awesome if were even less than that. Also it would help if anyone could tell me how to program the show as well.

Thanks in advance!

Mac software

If you are interested, I am talking to my neighbor up the street who is trying to help me write a program for Mac. I put a copy of parallels desktop(a virtual machine software) and a copy of WIndows XP that it ran. I then ran Light O Rama on the windows portion of my Mac. This work VERY WELL, but it ran me about 300 dollars just for all that software.
So for this years light show, I am going to try to get a program that will run the LOR controllers on Mac.

MacBooks have parallel printer ports?

It was a related link obviously, not an exact tutorial on what needs to be done (note the "of interest" phrase). For someone like the OP who most likely has no electronics background, it doesn't hurt, and for the hobbyist who sees this thread it might give them a few tips.
