That's right, every time I put my computer to sleep the hard drive just keeps on running. What's worse is that after it's been put to "sleep," it won't wake up... forcing me to do a cold shut-down. Anybody had any similar problems?... any cure?

Any help would be appreciated.:)

Huh, that didn't work, even after several tries. I also tried contacting Apple and they led me through a series of steps, yet in the end that failed as well. I just reinstalled Tiger from the startup discs to see if that would fix anything, and to my surprise it did... the mini successfully went to sleep and woke back up. However, after re-updating all the software and going to 10.4.4 it stopped working again. I suppose I'll just report a bug to Apple and hope that it is fixed in 10.4.5.

Non-standard apps include Adium, Adobe Photoshop 7, Adobe Reader, Album Cover Finder, AIM, BitTorrent, BootCD, Butler, EV Nova, Firefox, Flip4Mac, iPodRip, LimeWire, Path Finder, StickyBrain, TechTool Pro 4.1.1, Toast 7 Titanium, TrasparentDock, Tunatic, and Wolfenstein. Though, I'm clueless on which would be causing this problem.

File sharing apps are pretty notorious for wrecking Energy Saver settings however I would have thought the PMU reset would resolve that. Although there's a lot of double-up with the PMU reset, try resetting the PRAM all the same. It can't hurt. :)

Bingo! Thanks much.:)

Well, if the issue comes back and reseting the PRAM doesn't fix it, I'll fiddle with the file sharing apps. The funny thing is that when I called Apple they just had me do some repair the drive from the install discs, and if that didn't work they said I'd have to reformat my drive. Shows what they know.
