Due to my impatience I ended up buying the PS3 version pre-owned after two stores I've been to sold out on new copies. Worse yet, I have no code to redeem my free copy of the computer version. I linked my accounts but never knew I needed a code.

I feel so stupid. I'm also contradicting myself. The reason I got the PS3 version of Portal 2 was so I can play with my Steam and PSN friends plus save file space on my MacBook Pro even though I could run it. *Yet I wanted to make sure I get free access to the computer version in case there's content that won't come to the PS3. If I didn't worry too much about my MacBook Pro and whatever limitations it might have had, I could have just bought the computer version. I asked my mother if we could drive back to Gamestop to return my pre-owned copy (I have 7 days to return it), get my X-Mas money back, and look somewhere else for a new, unopened copy but she won't cooperate. She fears that the more I play games, the more I might break my keyboard.

There is no difference. The PS3 version has steam integration, and free DLC.

That said, if you want the computer version, why not take the PS3 copy back and just buy it on Steam?

Do this ^ there is no difference apart from operating system and type of console between the two games.

Thanks folks. I'll stick with the PS3 version for now. If the computer version ends up getting more stuff, I can always sell the PS3 version and upgrade to the computer version when the price drops. I remember selling my Gamecube version of Resident Evil 4 when I upgraded to the Wii version, it's the ultimate edition of the game.

small tip. Since you got all your questions answered and this thread isn't needed anymore, go to the first post>advanced edit and mark it as resolved so it goes to waste-land. :)
