I've got a 120gb ipod classic that I hadn't used for about 2 years. I charged it up and it plays music fine but my computers (apple and pc) won't recognize it. The screen lights up wen plugged in showing the ipod menu and then after a minute or so the ipod shuts off. I use a newer ipod with both those computers so maybe that's the problem. I've done research for days on this and haven't found a solution. I've tried all the usual steps:
1-updating itunes
2-resetting ipod numerous times
3-putting ipod into disk mode
4-trying different usb ports / cords
5-Checking disk management to see if it shows up there
Should I try finding an older version of itunes or an older driver for the ipod? So far I haven't been about to find old drivers. Please help, it's for a student that has nothing to do and a horrible home life.
