Concerned about adding a SSD

I'm getting ready to install a SSD based off Youds instructions found below.

I've talked to a few other people and they were concerned that I would be using heavy duty sticky back velcro to hold the drive in place. They said that I need to mount the drive properly and they would never do that with velcro cause it could easily come undone over time and fall.

Has anyone had issues with this, or do you share my concern? Anyone who has done it cna you tell me hoe secure the SSD fits inside the iMac?

I can't give you an answer but I can tell you that I would NEVER use velcro inside any mac or pc for that matter.

and as I'm inexperienced with iMacs I'd take it to a genius. that doesn't void your warranty either.

I did not use velcro on mine and I don't think it is needed at all. The drive is sort of wedged in place between the plastic wall protecting the optical drive and the plastic hard drive mount. Also, it is not going anywhere due to the attached cables and all of the cables routed through that area.

Mulo ... Apple wont install a SSD for you, even if you buy their SSD. They wont do it, you have to add it when you purchase it. So no, thats not an option.

At least resellers do. I got a friend who asked from his reseller and they said they can do that for 200€ and you can bring your own drive. It won't even void your warranty.

I just secured mine in place with zip-ties. Its not going anywhere in there

I installed it on a friends iMac, and it was very simple. Just dont make the same mistake I did. I have a late-09 iMac, and I didnt know it had to be the mid-2010 models, if you want to install the SSD. I took everything apart, and when I got to the logic board, I noticed there was only one SATA connector. Very disappointing, and a waste of time on my part.
