Hey there, I have an intel 13" MBP (specs attacched) and since I upgraded (by doing a clean install) to macOS Ventura the Mac is really hot, it gets hot to the touch just by watching the desktop (temps readout attached), activity monitor doesn't seem to report something weird and I use as many apple apps as I can (mail instead of spark, safari instead of Chrome, iWork suite instead of the Microsoft Office suite etc...) I remember having a similar problem with Monterey last year but I managed to fix it just by doing a clean install of the OS so this year I did the same. How can I fix it? My app usage hasn't really changed and the Mac still feels as snappy as it was as new.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I just tried that, doesn't seem to be the fix. language settings can affect temperatures? Sounds odd to me.

My Intel MacBook is running hotter than usual as well (also a bit laggy, and has a decreased battery life). I think Ventura wasn't optimised properly for Intel Macs.

Kinda good to now that my Mac isn't the only one affected by this problem but also kinda sad that a 3yo MBP has problems like this caused by a software update

A little update, I don't know what happened but without doing literally anything my Mac temperatures are back to normal even with a discrete number of apps open.
