I just finished constructing detailed spreadsheets for my iPad and iPhone to reconfigure the icons. What a pain. I don't see any simple way to do this except move icons one by one on the screen to different locations. And they don't move very well. With the old iTunes, I could have done it in 10 minutes on the computer. Is there really no easy way to do this?

To clarify...
Rearrange is a better term than reconfigure. Simply moving apps to different screens or locations for both iPhone and iPad. I thought I read that 3rd party tool Imazing does it, but I didn't see any such feature.

If you simply mean rearranging home screen icons, then no I don’t think there is an easier way anymore. It’s a pain but perfectly doable with some patience. How often do you need to do it en masse?

It's been a long time since I've done it since I haven't had the patience to rearrange more than a few apps. It took me about 2 hours to do since I have about 100 apps on each device. Most of the time was spent planning on how to rearrange and about 15 minutes for each device to actually move the apps. I miss iTunes!

Unfortunately, there is no better way. Yes, I miss iTunes too, and I was one of the few who never criticized iTunes back then (unlike almost everyone here at MacRumors).
