Conflict between Keychain and Chrome

Hi,

I want to access to a specific site. Looks like Keychain has a password A and Chrome has a password B. The correct one is B. But for some reason Chrome is using always A. If I remove A from Keychain Chrome use B and that's ok. But as soon as I reboot, Chrome is using A again.

So, the problems are:

1. Why the password A removed from keychain is back when I reboot?

2. Why Chrome is using password A stored on Keychain instead of use password B stored on Chrome itself?

Can you help me with that?

Apples keychain? Chrome shouldn't even get password A since iCloud Keychain only works with Safari. Can you explain what keychain you mean

Chrome does use Keychain to store passwords. You can access them either through Chrome following this:

1. Click on the Menu Icon in the upper right corner.
2. Click on Settings.
3. Click on Show Advanced Settings link at the bottom.
4. Click the Managed Saved Passwords.
5. Under the Saved Passwords box highlight the site you want to remove the password from, then click on the X button.

Or you can see them in Keychain. You can tell it is a Chrome PW in Keychain because it says Internet password like in my screenshot. The other Web form passwords you see there are from Safari.

I would go through the Chrome interface and manage them from there to get rid of the ones you don't want. But either method will work.

Wow that's cool, didn't know chrome can save passwords in keychain. Pretty sweet. So do these also than auto fill in chrome?

Yep... once saved there if you go back to the same site it will autofill the PW for you.

That's cool, I mean Im a Safari guy so it's not really useful too me but it's still awesome that it works with Chrome. I thought keychain only works with safari.
Does it also work on iOS if you have chrome?

You mean Chrome on iOS? I don't know since I don't use the Chrome iOS version.

You mean Chrome on iOS? I don't know since I don't use the Chrome iOS version.

Yeah chrome on iOS. Wonder if it works there as well since you said it works on chrome on OS X
