Just giving Saft another try, and find it very interesting that MacRumors Forums pages will not display anything when Saft is set to block Ads/Banners. Is this perhaps some type of self-defense mechanism within MacRumors, where if it detects something trying to block ads, it just blanks out the entire page? It doesn't seem to happen on any other pages I've hit yet.

As the page loads, things show up, but when it finished it just goes plain white, with nothing displayed. Strange.

Must admit, that Saft is great at filtering out ads on other sites. One browse around the likes of Yahoo and Saft makes a world of difference!

Any ideas, or anyone notice the same?

I've begin to quite like the notions of having saft running, what with the Safari Download window close on it's own, No more asking if I'm sure I want to download a file that contains an application, fewer ads, etc. But not so sure about this MacRumors conflict...

I'm using Adblock with Firefox and there is not problem with pages being blank.

Are your settings correct? i.e. are you blocking the MacRumors domain somehow?

Figured it out... Using Saft to block ads was identifying the word "banner" in the source code of the MRforums pages in general, thus making it ignore the whole thing. Going into Saft's Preferences and removing *banner* under the "URL Match Pattern" settings allows me to peruse MRforums without turning the adblocking off, although I'll now likely see more banner ads on other sites!

Surely this has happened to others, no?
