I have a late 2012 basic model iMac that I bought new. It still runs well, but the fan has periodically run like a jet engine. If I shake the computer a bit, it usually stops. Not the ideal fix... Anyway, I'm thinking of getting a new iMac just due to the number of updated operating systems this one has been through. I'm also getting more and more of the spinning wheel of death.

I use this computer for basic internet use. I don't do anything fancy with photos, I don't do gaming, nor do I watch movies on the computer. I still have over 750GB of storage left, so I don't really store much, obviously.

I was thinking about the mid level 21.5 inch Retina 4K model Apple has on its' website. I'm going under the assumption that this display will outshine the lowest priced iMac. Based on what I've written here, I'm appealing to you who are much more knowledgeable than I (and that's a lot of you!), to advise me that would be a good purchase for my needs.

I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter. Thanks so much!
