Confused about Game Mode: How to turn it off?

Hey guys,

I'm really confused about the new Game Mode. I launched a game and got the notification that Game Mode is now on.

However, when I then quit the game and launched it again, I did NOT get the notification again. So is Game Mode still active? Is there any way to check?

It's automatic, you don't have to do anything yourself.

When you have a game open, pull down on Control Center and it’ll show the status with the ability to turn it off.
